What is an endoscopy?
An endoscopy is a minimally invasive medical procedure. It uses an endoscope, a thin, flexible tube with a light and camera at its tip. The endoscope helps to examine the interior of a hollow organ or cavity within the body.
Doctors insert the endoscope through a natural opening in the body, such as the viz., mouth, anus, or the urethra, or through a small incision. This enables the doctors to view the internal structures on a monitor in real time.
